I admit that I’m not a very good sketcher, and I know it. But I will get better, using this anyway. It is a fantastic device to capture thoughts and digital sketches. The Wacom Bamboo pen is a low priced graphics tablet that I just love using, once you get it you can’t stop playing!

The Notebook, true love.

I’m watching it right now! Oh my god, I love this movie! It’s one of the most romantic things I’ve ever seen, if only real life was just like a love story from a movie like this. In some cases I guess it can be, and then sometimes in the movies, they fall out of love, only for a second and then realise how right they are for each other again. Just like life sometimes, getting in fights over stupid things. Love is the closest thing we have to magic, that’s why we must hold onto it.

I’ve started my own creative journal, for myself to gain inspiration when I’m struggling. I need to remember things which inspire me.

First semester at University

Lets just say that, in simple words that I have had a ball these past few months. I feel that I have thoroughly explored myself through creative means. The projects that I have been set I believe have challenged me to look further and past ordinary things. University as a whole has changed the way I pursue adventures, its taught me not to be afraid of being myself and to enjoy what your life has to offer. That’s only one semester, imagine what will happen next?

Just some really rough sketches which I did to develop my idea for a random mini project of my own.

6 Life Influences

Without our family, anyone would be no one. I can’t begin to image what we parents have done for me in my life, but as I get older, present get bigger, bills get more expensive. My Mum and Dad always say to me, “you didn’t as to be here, we got you here, so we have to be the ones to make your life as best as it can be”. My parents mean the world to me, yes they spoil me and my sister rotten, but because although my dad does’t show much emotion, he works away all week and all he expects is a cup of tea and a hug when he gets home.

When it hits April this year, I will have been with my boyfriend for almost four years. Sure, we are still young, but I feel that we have grown up a lot over the years. I was only young  when I met Ash, however, as we both have high aspirations, I think that we can help each other along the way in our professional lives, as a couple or not. He has inspired me to become a better person and to figure out who I really want to be. He has also helped me with anything went I have required it. He is my best friend, who loves works of art, something we have in common.

The Miley Cyrus concert spoke words to me. It was he first concert which I had attended in so long, one by my idol (at the time). Although I may have seemed happy with art and design and I knew that it was what I really wanted to do. There was always something in the back of my mind what didn’t want me to stop writing music. Music will always be a huge part of me, and I am even tying to learn the guitar this year. Everytime I see an artist on stage, it tells me that I should be up there. Sometimes, I just think that if singing was my passion, why didn’t I go for it as much as possible. That’s went I realised, it couldn’t be my passion. Something else is, and I’m not quite sure what is yet. We all have dreams to be rockstars and celebrity’s, but their not the people who change the world. That’s the job for us, and that’s what we are destined for.

My first trip to America brought me to New York City in 2008. In simple words, the path I’m on to become a designer may take me to a place as extraordinary as this, or at least I hope. I always aim high.

For the first time, in February 2011 I visited London. I found his place surreal, but mostly inspiring. It has everything you would want a city to have, it allowed me to explore and take advantage of the landmarks around me. I never realised that a city could be so beautiful. So I went back in October for more doses of culture.

The Austria skiing trip was a huge part of my life! It is the best memory I have from High School, and one of the most fun experiences of my life. The experience taught me never to be afraid of new adventures. Although the quests get harder as your life moves on, it gets all the more easier with close friends and family, and happy thoughts around you. Don’t let the fear get in the way of your exciting adventures.

6 Creative Influences

During college, as an extra assignment in English we we asked to look at street and youth slang. For this we watched a inspiration video featuring the work of Banksy who is essentially known for his unique street art (as in the image). Watching this helped me to uncover the passion that I had for different ideas, and the aspiration to be individual from everyone else. Not just in the arts, but in all aspects of life.

A second hidden artist, featured in this documentary film was a french individual who is know as ‘the space invader’. He created mosaics and dots them around cities which he has visited all over the world. I like how this is a way of someone voicing their opinions and feelings indirectly and through modern creativeness.

As a lover of Apple and all of its glory, I can’t stress enough how the products make me feel. In the words of Steve Jobs, “the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do”. Now I’m not saying that I can change the world, but I can’t stop myself from trying.

The Sims is one of the best selling simulation games of all time, with three strong generations of sell out PC and Mac games (also available on other platforms), The Sims has helped me develop my eye for interior and architectural design. This may seem rather odd, however, although essentially a game, its a young designers path to innovation and fun whilst doing it. I’m eighteen years old, almost nineteen. But I promise you, I shall never get bored of making and designing my awesome houses!

The choices in which pre-teens need to make these days are enormous. They tell you at the age of 14 to basically choose what you want to do for the rest of your life. At this point, panic arrises. I merely chose mostly subjects that sounded fun and interesting, and to please my parents, business studies, so that I got an academic one in there too. Graphics at GCSE was the best choice of my life. For two years, I didn’t want the lessons to stop. This image is a scan of the work I did for my final project in year eleven, and it is still my most prized graphics project. I had the most fun doing this and exploring the varieties of skills that I had obtained whilst studying the subject. And better yet, I was good at it, I just knew that High School wasn’t the end of my and graphic design.

Last but not least of my creative influences, my sister and her course at the University of Salford. She begin the Fashion degree course and always needed a model. So who better to turn to that a younger sibling? I guess the experience/s of helping my sister out made me realise that I could do or be anything I wanted. I’m not a model, not by far, but the numerous occasions of which I have modelled for my sister have left me with varying characters every time I tried a new outfit on. The result of all of the images over the past few years have encourage me to aspire to be not just myself as I am, but to expand my oppitunities.
